The 77th Precinct Community Council works to improve relations between police in the 77th Precinct and the communities in District 8 which they serve.

The May Precinct Council meeting will take place at Duryea Presbyterian Church in Prospect Heights. Meetings include updates on crime and policing activities in the 77th Precinct from senior command, and provide an opportunity for the public to raise issues of local concern.

Sponsored summer youth interns available for local non-profits

Brooklyn Neighborhood Improvement Association, Inc.(BNIA), the Summer Youth Employment sponsor in the Prospect Heights area is looking for work sites for youth to obtain employment experience during the summer. Area non-profits, day-care programs, senior programs, block associations, day camps, cultural programs and small businesses that have the capacity to provide 6 weeks of structured and supervised work can apply to BNIA. The applicants (aged 14-22) are then selected by drawing and placed based upon their skill sets and interest at various sites in the neighborhood.
