DOT bans left turns from Flatbush to Park Place and Sterling Place
Posted: March 24, 2010 - 12:00am

In order to promote safety for all modes and alleviate congestion on Flatbush Avenue, NYCDOT has instituted a full-time left turn ban southbound on Flatbush Avenue to Park Place.

Park Place eastbound can be accessed via a right turn onto Seventh Avenue and a left turn onto Park Place.

PHNDC hopes the move will alleviate some of the current use of Park Place as a through street for eastbound drivers wishing to avoid Grand Army Plaza and Eastern Parkway. Park Place is currently the only legal left turn southbound on Flatbush Avenue between Lafayette Avenue and Grand Army Plaza.

DOT also banned left turns on to Sterling Place by northbound Flatbush drivers at the same time. Sterling Place westbound can be accessed from Grand Army Plaza via Vanderbilt Avenue (bear right) and left turn onto Sterling Place.
