On 12/31/10, two people were shot in two separate incidents. One took place on Prospect Place between Vanderbilt and Carlton Avenues.

Save Our Streets (SOS) Crown Heights is an anti-gun violence program that operates in the 77th precinct; in addition to targeted outreach to at-risk individuals, SOS holds a shooting response to each and every shooting in the 77th precinct. A shooting response is an opportunity for the community to come out and show that we will not tolerate gun violence.

SOS' response to the two 12/31 shootings will be held on Friday, 1/7/11 at 6pm at 186 Prospect Place. Community members are encouraged to participate.

Compensation for tornado-related losses available from NYC Comptroller

Representative Yvette Clarke's office has informed us that community members who sustained property damage during the tornado that struck Prospect Heights on September 16, 2010 may file claims for reimbursement from the City of New York.
