Brooklyn Community Board 8 today issued a letter of support to PHNDC for its efforts to create a historic district in the neighborhood of Prospect Heights. Writing on behalf of the Board, Chairman Robert Matthews stated that, "It is widely confirmed that having landmark status can protect a neighborhood rich in history and wondrous structures from inappropriate or over-development and changes. Therefore, an effort to have the area designated as a landmark district would be greatly beneficial not only to current residents of the area, but also residents of surrounding areas." PHNDC thanks CB8 for its support, and looks forward to working with the Board on issues regarding development in Prospect Heights.
