Calling all volunteers and participants for It’s My Park Day at Underhill Playground!
After a successful and well-attended Easter Egg Hunt to kick off the Underhill Playground 2010 Season, The Friends of Underhill Playground are now are looking for volunteers to participate in our next event, “It’s My Park Day.”
It’s My Park Day, sponsored by the NYC Department of Parks & Recreation, celebrates thousands of New Yorkers coming together to care for their neighborhood parks and playgrounds throughout the five boroughs.
Help keep Underhill Playground clean, safe and beautiful! The Friends are seeking volunteers to help us weed and mulch throughout the playground. Volunteers will work in small groups in 1-hour blocks starting at 9 a.m.. To volunteer please contact underhillplaygroundvolunteers@gmail.com and put "It's My Park Day" in the subject line.
Additionally, The Friends will be offering a variety of free events for participants of all ages including fitness and dance demonstrations sponsored by our neighbors at New York City Explorers; and several classes sponsored by Nairobi's Knapsack including a sewing session, a Music Together class, and a strength demo.
