On Tuesday, February 20, 2007, Forest City Ratner officially started construction at the Atlantic Yards site. According to the developer, the initial activities are limited to preparation of the railyards for moving tracks.

However, PHNDC found that streets and sidewalks adjacent to the project have also been opened to access valves necessary to shut off water to some buildings in the footprint. As is shown in the photo below, an opening blocked a bicycle lane on Dean Street on Friday, February 23.

PHNDC has asked the developer's Community Liaison Office to provide a schedule of construction activities for the next three months, which we will post when we receive a response.
